Alder Ocean

Pattern and colour combine to make an attractively unusual fabric in these curtains in Alder Ocean, one of five colours in this new Alder range. One of the strongest colourways, Ocean is a gorgeous marine green as you’d expect from the name, a green with just a touch of blue and the design has a crackle glazed effect, as if the solid green has been smashed into smaller pieces. Rather than just leaving it with a stark green and white contrast though, vertical lines in green run the whole width of the fabric, filling in the spaces between the breaks for a softer look. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for something just a little different but still in a colour you can easily accesorise.

Using the upholstery attachment, gently vacuum your Roman blinds. Work in a downwards motion from top to bottom, paying particular attention to the bottom and side edges, where dust may gather. Stains can be spot treated with a clean, damp cloth or a specialist stain remover. Do not machine wash your Roman blinds – many of our fabrics are dry clean only.

All Hillarys products conform to European safety legislation. When you buy a Roman bind, your Hillarys fitter will also install a discreet little cleat or hook for the cord to wrap around, so there are no loose cords. These are fitted at a minimum height of 1.5m above the floor. Having a safety device is a legal requirement even in homes without children. If you move home and leave your blinds you have an obligation to make sure they are legally safe.
