If you’re looking for a Roman blind that combines a strong colour with an unusual pattern then you’ve probably found your dream in Alder Red. This new range offers two different takes, where the feature colour is either the background that the pattern breaks up, or the pattern itself, on a cream background. With red, it’s the latter, so the reddish-orange randomised lines crack their way across the cream. It’s one of those patterns that aren’t affected by being folded so you’re not losing any sense of continuity or flow in it when it’s raised. Using the upholstery attachment, gently vacuum your Roman blinds. Work in a downwards motion from top to bottom, paying particular attention to the bottom and side edges, where dust may gather. Stains can be spot treated with a clean, damp cloth or a specialist stain remover. Do not machine wash your Roman blinds – many of our fabrics are dry clean only.

All Hillarys products conform to European safety legislation. When you buy a Roman bind, your Hillarys fitter will also install a discreet little cleat or hook for the cord to wrap around, so there are no loose cords. These are fitted at a minimum height of 1.5m above the floor. Having a safety device is a legal requirement even in homes without children. If you move home and leave your blinds you have an obligation to make sure they are legally safe.
