When is a pattern not a pattern – when it’s a Roman blind in Maxwell Mink. This new fabric features one of those designs that looks different close up than it does far away, and it’s down to the crazy-paving style that sees little shapes tightly packed with the smallest of gaps around each one. Created with just two colours, a beige for the background and off-white for the shapes there’s an overall neutral colour scheme with the pattern adding a little interest and it’ll work in a wide range of room settings. There’s also a small percentage of lycra in this fabric, so you know the blind will fold well when raised but also release fully when extended again.

Using the upholstery attachment, gently vacuum your Roman blinds. Work in a downwards motion from top to bottom, paying particular attention to the bottom and side edges, where dust may gather. Stains can be spot treated with a clean, damp cloth or a specialist stain remover. Do not machine wash your Roman blinds – many of our fabrics are dry clean only.

All Hillarys products conform to European safety legislation. When you buy a Roman bind, your Hillarys fitter will also install a discreet little cleat or hook for the cord to wrap around, so there are no loose cords. These are fitted at a minimum height of 1.5m above the floor. Having a safety device is a legal requirement even in homes without children. If you move home and leave your blinds you have an obligation to make sure they are legally safe.
