Brown is never boring, especially when it’s a Roman blind in Shelby Mushroom. It’s easy to see why we named this fabric when you look at it – so many different shades of brown working together and creating a soft effect, while still having something a little earthy about them. Colour, pattern and weave each play their part in Shelby Mushroom, and each has equal importance. A mid-dark brown line cuts through the paler background, where the weave layers palest brown with white into a chequered haze of soft beige, while the pattern feeds a set of three lines, repeated across the width in equal bands. There’s something elegant yet unstuffy with this blind, so you’re going to be able to use it all across your home, both in neutral and more colourful settings.

Using the upholstery attachment, gently vacuum your Roman blinds. Work in a downwards motion from top to bottom, paying particular attention to the bottom and side edges, where dust may gather. Stains can be spot treated with a clean, damp cloth or a specialist stain remover. Do not machine wash your Roman blinds – many of our fabrics are dry clean only.

All Hillarys products conform to European safety legislation. When you buy a Roman bind, your Hillarys fitter will also install a discreet little cleat or hook for the cord to wrap around, so there are no loose cords. These are fitted at a minimum height of 1.5m above the floor. Having a safety device is a legal requirement even in homes without children. If you move home and leave your blinds you have an obligation to make sure they are legally safe.
